Mark L. Harvey

Mark L (Snooper) Harvey began serving this nation straight out of High School. First, as a police officer and then as a member of an anti-terrorist tag-team. Mark started paying greater attention to the highly volatile political circumstances of the late 1960s after his brother was killed in action during the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam. The things he observed during that time often left him troubled and wondering what was happening in America? Why was radically anti-social and dangerously irresponsible behavior being appeased and then excused as nothing more than normal “teenage angst?” Why were so many Americans willing to allow the enemies within to run amok virtually unopposed?

Mark served the United States honorably both in and out of military from 1976 to 2004, During that time he began a crusade to inform and educate others about the often subtle, sometimes radical reeducation and indoctrination efforts that were emerging from within the American education system. Mark utilized the “List of 45” as presented in the book The Naked Communist by W. Cleon Skousen to help him conduct his crusade.

During his service as a political and intelligence analyst, Mark came to realize that the battles fought to preserve the American way of life at home are just as important as those fought by the American Armed Forces overseas. “If we have no valid or operational Constitution, the battles fought overseas could be all for naught.”

Mark is a Co-Founder and featured contributor to American Daily Review, member of the Committee of Concerned Journalists and hosts his own talk radio program on the Heading Right Radio Network. He is a Citizen Journalist and a featured contributor to American Daily Review. He has had his work published by the Canada Free Press, Digital Journal, The New Media Journal and contributes to several other publications.

Mark has cultivated a loyal audience within the blogosphere and among Internet radio listeners, his personal insight and hard hitting commentary have made him a cherished personality. Mark’s website is Snooper Report.com

U.S. Congressman, Joe Barton, Representative 6th District of Texas

Congressman Joe Barton was first elected to serve the Sixth District of Texas in 1984. In 2004, he was selected by his colleagues to be the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce – the oldest standing legislative House committee. Bartonwas the first Texan sinceformer House Speaker Sam Rayburn to chair this important committee. The Energy & Commerce Committee has arguably the broadest non tax-oriented jurisdiction of any congressional committee, with principal House responsibility over matters relating to commerce, public health and marketplace interests. Barton currently serves as the Ranking Republican of the full Energy and Commerce Committee.

The “House GOP’s leading expert on energy policy” (Wall Street Journal, 10/02), Barton has led the House charge to pass comprehensive national energy policy legislation. In the past two congresses, he has shared authorship of the two most comprehensive energy policy packages to pass in the House since the 1930s. Barton has committed himself to passing legislation promoting an environment of high supply, low demand, consumer-friendly prices and environmental protection. A proponent of competition, Barton is additionally responsible for both the first electricity deregulation legislation to pass a House subcommittee, and for legislation which deregulated the natural gas industry.

Barton’s diligent work to promote a conservative agenda and protection of individual rights recently earned him notice from National Journal as one of the “Republicans to Watch” (11/03). In his first legislative victory as Chairman, the House overwhelmingly passed legislation to limit indecency on the public airwaves. As a founding co-Chairman of the Congressional Privacy Caucus, he continues in his new role to preserve American’s financial and medical privacy, and has in particular used his jurisdiction to protect safety and privacy in the ever-expanding Internet universe. As founding co-Chairman of Asthma Awareness Day on Capitol Hill, Barton has consistently supported common sense, environmentally-sound clean air policy at the local, state and national level. He remains committed to supporting advanced research and increased funding for diabetes, cancer and the issues of home, rural and mental health, and was responsible for the passage of landmark FDA reform legislation designed to improve the way the agency approves medical devices.

Barton remains among the steadfast House leaders on tax reform through the promotion of lower taxes and financial freedom. He has supported eliminating the marriage penalty and estate tax, reduced capital gains taxes, retirement of the current tax code and sweeping bankruptcy reforms. Barton will continue to fight for the basic traditional rights put forth by our Founding Fathers.

Joe Barton was born on September 15, 1949 in Waco, Texas. An avid baseball player growing up, he earned a four-year Gifford-Hill Opportunity Award scholarship to Texas A&M University, where he was the outstanding industrial engineering student for the Class of 1972. After earning a Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Purdue University, he joined Ennis Business Forms, where he rose to the position of Assistant to the Vice President. In 1981, he was selected for the prestigious White House Fellows Program, and served as an aide to then-Energy Secretary James B. Edwards. He returned to Texas in 1982 as a natural gas decontrol consultant for Atlantic Richfield Oil and Gas Company before being elected to Congress.

Barton and his wife Terri have homes in Ennis and Arlington, Texas. He hasfour children, two stepchildren and five grandchildren.

U.S. Congressman, Judge John R. Carter, Representative 31st District of Texas

Congressman John R. Carter was elected in 2002 to represent Texas’ Thirty-First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and was re-elected in 2004 and 2006. Congressman Carter has established himself as a leader in Congress who has the foresight and courage to author and support numerous pieces of legislation that would increase the protection of U.S. citizens and bring justice to those who threaten our freedom and way of life.

Congressman Carter was unanimously elected by his peers to serve in the House Republican leadership as the House Republican Conference Secretary for the 110th Congress. In this position, Congressman Carter holds the sixth most powerful position among House Republicans.

At the beginning of the 109th Congress, Congressman Carter was elected to serve on the prestigious House Appropriations Committee by the House Republican Steering Committee. On the Appropriations Committee, Congressman Carter sits on thetwo subcommittees, which benefit the 31st District: Military Quality of Life and Veterans Affairs, formerly known as Military Construction, and Homeland Security. During the 108th Congress, Congressman Carter was a member of the House Education and the Workforce, Judiciary, and Government Reform Committees.

Carter also continues to serveonthe House Republican Steering Committee, an official group of members who are in charge of placing members on committees. Carter has been honored to serve on this select panel since being elected to Congress.

Congressman Carter’s leadership ability has been recognized by his colleagues and others. During his first term, Congressman Carter was named one of the “Top Five Freshman” in Congress by Capitol Hill’s leading newspaper.

For Congressman Carter, leadership goes far beyond the committee room and onto the House floor, where he has successfully had legislation passed and signed into law by President George W. Bush. Bringing to Congress 20 years of judicial experience, Congressman Carter has consistently worked to advance a tough on crime agenda.

In July 2004, President Bush held a signing ceremony for Congressman Carter’s Identity Theft bill at the White House.

The law lessens the burden of proof making identity theft easier to prove and prosecute and also defines and creates punishment for aggravated identity theft.
Congressman Carter bears the nickname of “Judge” on Capitol Hill and at home for serving over 20 years on the bench. In 1981, Congressman Carter was appointed the judge of the 277th District Court of Williamson County and was elected District Judge in 1982. Before becoming a Judge, Congressman Carter had a successful private law practice and continued to practice law while serving as the Municipal Judge in Round Rock. He was the first county-wide elected Republican in Williamson County history. As an attorney, Carter represented the Round Rock and Williamson County communities through their first booming phases of growth and continues to support and guide today’s growth. Congressman Carter has seen the economy both rise and fall and has a plan to assist the residents in Congressional District 31 to ensure their prosperity.

A true Texan at heart, Congressman Carter was born and raised in Houston and has spent his adult life in Central Texas. Carter attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with a degree in History and then graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1969.Congressman Carter and his wife, Erika, met in Holland and have been happily married since June 15, 1968. Alan Caruba

Alan Caruba’s weekly commentaries can be found on the website of National Anxiety Center, Canada Free Press, and daily at “Warning Signs” his very popular blog. If you love to read, visit his monthly report on new books at Bookviews. His full biography below comes from his website Caruba.com

Public Relations Counselor & Editorial Consultant

Alan Caruba has been a professional writer and public relations counselor for more than four decades. His expertise on a range of public affairs issues has made him a popular guest on talk radio and on television.

Prior to establishing The Caruba Organization, Mr. Caruba was a professional journalist; a reporter and editor with two weekly newspapers in New Jersey and a columnist and feature writer for a New Jersey daily. In addition, he was a freelance contributor to the New Jersey Sunday section of The New York Times.

During this period and thereafter, as a freelance writer he contributed to many newspapers and magazines, consistently winning awards for his work. These days, his writings are widely published on leading news and opinion Internet sites, as well as in a variety of publications. His opinion editorials have appeared regularly in The Washington Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Providence Journal, and other print media outlets.

After graduating from the University of Miami (FL) and serving in the U.S. Army, and following his career as a journalist, Mr. Caruba joined the New York State Department of Housing and Community Affairs as its Communications Director, transferring to the New York State Housing Finance Agency. His work included award-winning annual reports for both of these state agencies. Returning to his home State, Mr. Caruba became the Director of Publications for the New Jersey Institute of Technology, responsible for a wide range of work including recruiting publications and annual catalogs of course offerings.

The Caruba Organization. He established his own firm in the late 1970s and has enjoyed a wide variety of clients. Over the years, he has worked with leading corporations, trade associations, think tanks, and entrepreneurs of every description. He provides editorial services to public relations and public affairs agencies. Since the 1990s, he has been the public relations counselor for the New Jersey Pest Management Association. Founder. Mr. Caruba has received extensive national and international media recognition, first as the founder in 1984 of the famed media spoof and clearinghouse of information, The Boring Institute©. He was profiled in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and many other publications as the nation’s expert on boredom and its impact on individuals and society. Over the course of its twenty years, Mr. Caruba averaged a thousand radio interviews annually until putting the Institute on hiatus in 2004.

In 1990, based on his years as a business and science writer, Mr. Caruba founded The National Anxiety Center as a clearinghouse for information about “scare campaigns” designed to influence public opinion and policy. Junk science and dubious claims are regularly debunked. His weekly commentary, “Warning Signs”, is widely quoted and excerpted by leading Internet sites and often are published as opinion editorials.
