Ann Coulter argues in Human Events that Moslems are the new victims de jour, and that the mainstream media is insanely trying to attribute this act of Jihad as “stress”. (1)

“But the mainstream media waited for no information — indeed actively avoided learning any information — before leaping to the far less obvious conclusion that the suspect’s mass murder was set off by “stress.”
The day after the slaughter, The New York Times ran one editorial and two of three op-eds asserting as much — which was at least one more than the Times usually runs about psycho-killer soldiers going on rampages.
Two days after the mass shooting, the Times’ laughably predictable headlines about the Fort Hood bloodbath were:
– “Preliminary Inquiry Finds No Link to Terror Plot”
– “Painful Stories Take a Toll on Military Therapists”
– “When Soldiers’ Minds Snap”
The Los Angeles Times jumped to the exact same conclusion, running an article on the massacre titled: “Fort Hood Tragedy Rocks Military as It Grapples With Mental Health Issues.” Time magazine followed suit, posting an article titled: “Stresses at Fort Hood Were Likely Intense for Hasan.”
Inasmuch as Maj. Hasan had never been deployed overseas, much less seen combat, liberals seem to have discovered the first recorded case of “pre-traumatic stress syndrome.”
Their point was: The real victim of Fort Hood was Maj. Hasan. Indeed, all Muslims were the victims that day.”

Yeah, she’s right about this. Liberals keep pushing this notion that military service is too hard for anyone to do. Remember the Haditha business? Murtha claimed the soldiers cracked because of the pressure, and murdered innocent people in cold blood. See, he’s not trashing the soldiers, just the military in general! When the soldiers at Haditha were cleared of wrongdoing, the media and John Murtha were strangely silent. They have been trying to create a paradigm that says military action, even military service without action, is so unnatural that it causes our best and brightest to turn into Ted Kaczinski. Think about the Missouri Report for State Troopers calling returning soldiers potential domestic terrorists? Does anyone remember DHS making similar claims?
They are doing this because they want to marginalize the military - and military service. Liberals have always hated the military, even though the military has been surprisingly “progressive” through the years. It was integrated far earlier than was the society at large, for instance. But it is still a dischargable offense to be openly homosexual, and that grates at the left (who, frankly, do not care if such behavior is destructive to the cohesion of military units). To America’s liberal brains, the U.S. military is the source of all evil in the world. They cannot openly oppose the military, so they have latched onto this idea that soldiers are emotional trainwrecks capable of any sort of psychotic behavior. Oh, and so are pro-lifers, Ron Paul supporters, Christians, people who quote the Founding Fathers, etc. In short, WE are all a bunch of wackjobs, and should be marginalized by the self-proclaimed “mainstream”.
Once in a while the mask that liberals wear slips, revealing the putrid leperous face beneath. This is one such instance.
